Thursday Report for The Subcontinental, September 19, 2002
This is the Subcontinental Institute's bi-weekly report to
inform you about the recent happenings at the organization
and journal in preparation for the release of a new
publication on South Asian American political identity.
The Subcontinental Institute is pleased to announce that The
Subcontinental: A Journal of South Asian American Political
Identity is in pre-production for the release of its first
issue in January 2003. The premier issue will feature articles
and essays focusing on strategies for political organizing and
identity formation among peoples of South Asian descent in the
U.S. The Institute wishes to thank all who have helped make
this progress possible though your input, time, and generous

Subcontinental Institute representatives attended the Network
of South Asian Professionals NetSAP annual conference in Boston
over the Labor Day weekend, engaging professionals from across
the United States. Special thanks to NetSAP-Boston's President,
Nishith Acharya, and NetSAP for their kind hospitality to The
Subcontinental.
On September 7, 2002 staff attended The Indus Entrepreneurs
(TiE)-Texas annual conference in Houston, Texas. The
Subcontinental was pleased to gather insights and support
from the thriving South Asian American entrepreneurial
community in Texas.
