Thursday Report for The Subcontinental, May 2, 2002

NEWS HIGHLIGHTS

The Subcontinental and the Subcontinental Institute are featured 
in the article "Chronicling Political Identity in Action" in the 
current issue of Austin Downtown Arts Magazine.(Vol. 8, #4, April 
2002) The magazine is Austin's oldest and only monthly arts and 
culture magazine.

The article, written by The Subcontinental Managing Editor Joe 
McElrath, introduces the Subcontinental Institute to Austin and 
details the long-range goals for the journal and the organization.

Representatives of The Subcontinental will be visiting Seattle 
and New York this month to meet with the Indian American Political 
Advocacy Council and the Indian American Education Foundation. The 
purpose of these visits is to discuss ways of working together to
