The Autumn 2004 issue (Issue 2:3) will focus education policy and experiences:

A Call for Submissions: Special Issue on South Asian America & Education


The Subcontinental Institute is pleased to invite submissions to the Fall 2004 issue of The Subcontinental: A Journal of South Asian American Public Affairs. The Subcontinental will feature research based essays and articles on issues affecting the participation of South Asian Americans in Education.

We are accepting submissions for the third issue in Volume 2 planned for release in October 2004. The theme for this issue of The Subcontinental is education and will be guest editied by Vijay Prashad.

Please submit abstracts by August 20, 2004 and full manuscripts by September 10, 2003 for consideration for this issue. If you have manuscript development ideas or general questions, please contact Nirav S. Desai at niravdesai@thesubcontinental.org or Vijay Prashad at vijay.prashad@trincoll.edu

Submission Guidelines:
Articles should be previously unpublished and intended for an intelligent general audience of policymakers, academics, and business and community groups serving South Asian Americans, and politically active South Asian Americans. Manuscripts should be no shorter than 2,000 - 4,000 words (7-12 double spaced pages), inclusive of all figures and graphs. Notes should only be used for substantive comments. Use endnotes for all citations.

Please email a Word or Word Perfect document to niravdesai@subcontinental.org. Include a 100-150 word abstract and an author bio no longer than 200 words. Be sure to provide a title page with complete contact information: name & affiliations, mailing address, day & evening phone numbers, and email address.
