Prem Kumar received his Ph.D. in English from Washington State University and currently is a member of the Auxiliary Faculty at the University of Washington and Adjunct Faculty for Antioch University. He is also a member of the Advisory Council for Washington State University. In 1994 he co-founded the Indian American Political Advocacy Council, working to increase political education for the Indian American community of the Pacific Northwest. He is a Director of the Nargis Dutt Memorial Cancer Foundation and in 2000 founded the Indian American Education Foundation (IAEF). IAEF works to promote greater study of South Asian culture in American universities and promote philanthropy directed towards primary education in India. He also works as a Senior Instructional Designer for Boeing.
