Nirav Desai is founder and Editor-in-Chief of
The Subcontinental: The Journal of South Asian American Public Affairs
(www.thesubcontinental.org), which published it's first issue in Spring 2003. He has worked
on extensive investigations of affirmative action, immigration, globalization, and health
care.
He has worked as a consultant for various companies over the past eight years, but currently
as a Senior Consultant with Booz Allen Hamilton. Additionally, he served as Chief Technology
Officer of WordSoundAction, a non-profit arts organization that develops integrated human
networks through performance art in new immigrant communities. During his studies, he served
as Senior Editor of Ex Nihilo, the undergraduate philosophy journal for the
University of Texas at Austin for one year and was an Editor for three years before that.
He received a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Mathematics and Philosophy from the
University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with honors. He currently lives in
Washington, DC.
